I have always understood that to get HIFI resolution Tidal must be opened in Chrome even when using there application

Follow Ups:
I'm on a Mac Mini and from day one of signing on to Tidal I have used the Tidal stand alone app. for the Mac OS. No Chrome on my Mini. I hear glorious Master file stereo. The stand alone app. is now at Ver. 2.1.5.228.
Perhaps Tidal is different for PC's?

CHROME is said to be the only browser capable of playing lossless FLAC at 16/44.1 quality but I have never loaded Chrome onto my computers.
Mostly because I don't trust GOOGLE with ANYTHING.
Its an application....nothing to do with a browser.
When Tidal was first released all there was was the web player which required opening in Chrome to get 16/44 flac file quality. If you did not open in chrome all you could get was mpg. That is fact. I have been a subscriber since day one. Now they have a new player which does not require chrome

Right...I remember that too. But now they have a stand alone application that has nothing to do with a browser.
Sorry, I want trying to be snotty.
