Well you can do as soundchekk mentioned and roll your own from scratch.
But IMO the best way to get the exact same result [albeit not with Arch] is to used DietPi.
With DietPi you start with a base system....with nothing else. And from that point you add only what you want ie ALSA, MPD, etc.
As far as I know the base system of DietPi is the leanest ARM OS available.

I doubt that anything gets leaner than a TinyCore based
system such as PiCorePlayer, which by the way resides
100% in RAM - without any SD card access during operation.
FYI, Dietpi resides 100% in RAM too without any access to the SD card during operation.Both running on the exact same RPi with a Digi+ Pro and streaming the exact same file. DietPi uses a lot less memory with more Free memory. Both have only ONE process running, but PiCore has way more processes in total.
