Yeah. There is so much working going on in this space, no offense to any developers. They work hard doing what they believe is best.
At the very least this was a $500 Rasberry experiment for me, donated to Volumio and Moode Audio at $100 clips.
Still got an IFI power supply coming and the case for the RPi and Digi+ pro case, maybe I will give it away too, as the Sonos modified Connect by Wyred 4 Sound is fantastic, I keep falling back to that.
I really think open source needs a leader, check out how sad the HURD Operating system is going for proof, we need companies and funding to get something done correctly unfortunately as we are in a money based energy extract system.
Here I thought you were ready to give away your modified SONOS Connect to the first person who posted the secret code, now that you had that Raspberry Pi up and running,
But no. :-(
But I'm going to do a test.
St Germain on my Mac Mini Hard Drive vs. the CD on my Silver Disk Spinner vs. streaming via LMS to PcP on the Raspberry Pi/HiFi Berry Digi+ Pro all on the same Audio-GD Multi-bit Ladder DAC vs TIDAL MQA running on the same Mac Mini to the Meridian Explorer 2 decoding the MQA.
Maybe 'dark' wins? ;-)
Yes its pretty easy to Nickle and Dime yourself into a substantial amount of money in this hobby.
Just think, if you would have purchased a fancy LPS and a fancy USB-SPDIF converter and some cables etc. you could easily be > $1k. Thats about the cost of a modded Sonos +/-. Be better off just getting the modded Sonos from the start.
This is a fun hobby, but I'm sure I spent more money on junk than on keeper items over the years.

It may not work right for your system. Have no idea what kind of amps and Speakers you have.... I am using Bi-Amped Oris Horns at 114db with 45 SET amps.....
You have to use what's right for you.
