In Reply to: RE: New OraStream hi res streaming service, what equipment is required? posted by franktan on April 12, 2017 at 19:58:26
That helped franktan. I would never use a phone for music. Don't need to move owned music from 1 computer to another or to a different location. The computer used for music is in the stereo room.
What seems to be missing is how to stream new music. Article mentions Naxos. They are mostly classical music. Is OraStream going to stream their own music? If not, how do I get rock, country, blues, etc?
Thanks
Follow Ups:
In the home, users will already have a music library/player either in software, such as JRiver Media Centre or ROON, and hardware. Thus, if there is little utility (in the convenience) for access or control of the music library from another location, there will be less of a need for BRIO.
As stated in the release, OraStream will also power Xstream, Neil Young's streaming music service.
Thank you franktan. Understand now. There are 2 parts to Brio. Moving our owned music around, which is all Brio, and acquiring "new" music which requires Brio and Xstream.
Streaming "new" music requires Xstream. Is there a launch date for Xstream? Hope it is soon. Can't wait to try this.
Thanks again.
