In Reply to: RE: One more SMALL bit of assistance needed with the Raspberry Pi/HiFi Berry.... posted by Ivan303 on April 08, 2017 at 08:09:56
I've given up following all the changes to Digital audio playback.
There are dozens of things only identified by initials...
Follow Ups:
Right now that requires a laptop computer hooked via USB to my Audio-GD DAC/Headphone amp.
I have a Ethernet Jack right next to my favorite chair in the living room and would like to un-couple my laptop from the DAC, even not use it for music streaming at all.
Any of the low-cost streamers will do this including the now discontinued Squeeze Box Touch. Turns out the Raspberry Pi box with a HiFiBerry S/PDIF board attached can do this as well, be controlled by the same software, Logitech Media Server and costs about $100 and is so simple EVEN IVAN CAN DO IT!
OK, had some help from inmate 'bullethead' along with encouraged and discouragement from others who post here.
Seem to work OK so far.

That's why I listen to Files I've bought of music I like, through my DSD Dacs, W/HQ Player, in DSD128.
I'm not paying $20/month , plus gear to search for whatever they might offer, I don't have that much time to devote.
I do stream Internet radio, tho, KCEA FM, and Joe Frank Shows.
The rest of my Musical Energy goes into Composing/Arranging/Playing.
