Thanks!
Been staring at that completed case for about a week now building up courage to 'flash' a uSD card.
Do I have to format the uSD card or will the ETCHER application do that for me automatically when I try to 'flash' PcP to it?
Follow Ups:
using Etcher is that it "dismounts" my card reader upon completion.
Afterwards, I need to edit the config.txt file to set a few more kernel parameters, but must reboot in order to enable the reader.

editing.
Then I'll likely just buy a new uSD card. =:-0
Etcher does everything just click click and done
aljordan answered it.
These image files are 100% images, incl. boot sector, partition tables etc.
Under linux btw a simple command does the trick to write an image to a media e.g. :
dd if=whatever.img of=/dev/sdx bs=1M
That's all, that simple.
Enjoy.
You don't have to format cards before flashing. Flashing will destroy existing data on the card.
