an RPI for Idiots primer on exactly what hardware is necessary! I did link a How To configure piCorePlayer page a while back.
As a teenager, I built Dynakits so I'm reasonably competent when it comes to electronic assembly. I know you get the basis unit, power supply and box, but am unsure about meeting my need in the garage for WiFi and connectivity options. I'm using optical to a Music Hall DAC there, but it also accepts coax and USB.
Follow Ups:
You're a smart guy, so this should not be too difficult.1.) Raspberry Pi 3 Board. (Wireless is included in the Pi 3B Board)
https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/accessories/raspberry-pi-3/
2.) A Digi+ Board from HifiBerry (so you have a Digital Out for a DAC)
https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-digiplus-standard-version/
3.) Power Supply for the Rpi (Your Choice here - same specs as Touch)
4.) Micro SD Card (Only need about 2GB - the cheapest I could find was 8GB)
5.) Case (Optional, but nice) to hold a PI with Digi+ board attached)
https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/cases/hifiberry-caseplus/PiCorePlayer is free and you are free to donate.... Included options for Wireless, and Digi+ board for digital.
Should be around $100 or so.... Once you see how easy this is, you'll buy more, I'm sure.

Stuff ordered!
Total was $105. I wanted a case, but the clear one was out of stock at HiFiBerry.
Ended up with the Zebra Tall Top Hat case in acrylic which was a touch pricier, but nicer looking. Should provide sufficient clearance for the top board.
Looking forward to your review of the Rpi.

So are you going to use USB out, SPDIF or Analog?
