Yup, the Intona worked great with my PS Audio NuWave DAC. It was more effective than the REGEN in my setup. I sold the REGEN quite a while ago.
I still own the Intona but don't find it necessary with the microRendu network streamer.
Follow Ups:
The REGEN powered by the LPS-1 is quite special with the "right" DAC whatever that means :-).
Thank goodness for optimizations.
is also very good battery powered. But you are replying to someone who sold his Regen because he couldn't hear a benefit.

As others have also reported, I heard more benefit with my Intona USB isolator.
noisy computer!
How do you deal with that huge 39-lb Dell workstation of yours with the noisy blowers and cheap onboard audio? What a beast! And less powerful than a tiny quiet Mac Mini.Massive blowers in the Dell T5500 workstation of yours

I have never used it for audio, just video processing at minimal cost.
You habit of inventing 'facts' puts you in the Faking category of posters.

FACT:
It's a fact that on July 15, 2016 fmak posted:"I bought a Dell T5500 24G ddr3 2.67GHz 6 Core 18kg monster and is surprised by how very good onboard audio sounds."
"Latency is all time low for me O(10uS) for all transfers using Latency Mon and when output is set to a totally quiet core, audio sounds very good indeed."

This does not mean that I use it for audio.
You generate fake posts thru distortion, period.
Get some common.
The Fact that you have refused for several years now to post any information about your system in your Profile leaves us to rely solely on the Facts that you post in these forums. It's a Fact (not faked) that on July 15, 2016 fmak posted:

And you claim my tiny Mac Mini is noisy? LoL !

with gross distortion of the truth. You can't even understand the difference between acoustic and electrical noise. The Dell that I heard was far apart from my listening position as well, The computer was well insulated acoustically and it is idiotic to show pictures of the fan to insinuate the level of noise. No brains or comprehension of what others say or post.

another circular argument not worth my time. bye bye
from inmate faker
I also found the Intona to be much better then the Regen
I used an outboard linear supply for my Regen but it
doesn't do much in my system
Alan
I found the Intona to be different, not necessarily better than the Regen. It really depends on the DAC you are using. And the LPS used with the Regen is critical. I did like the Intona when I reviewed it. More to come :-)
I think people are going about it all the wrong way and applying redundant clocking etc in the music chain.
I still own the Intona but don't find it necessary with the microRendu network streamer.
I've read that the Audiophilleo converter I use between the mRendu and ARC DAC works as well or better than similar products like the Audiobyte Hydra Z .
Choose your box - or maybe none at all depending upon your configuration!
but don't know the difference between a DAC, a usb isolator, and a usb isolator plus regenerator feeding a high quality dac.
Figures.
The Audiophilleo feeding the Audio Research DAC8, btw, is a USB to S/PDIF converter. Perhaps you need to ramp up on that concept as well.
You may be aware that the microRendu renderer that Abe and I use incorporates a built-in a usb isolator/regenerator. You know - that optimization thing. :)
Exactly, you are mixing your dac with your isolator/regenerator as I said
Read your own post.

I am "mixing" my DAC with the microRendu? Whatever does that mean?
microRendu streamer--> Audiophilleo USB to S/PDIF converter--> DAC
don't understand your own post?
It figures over the totality of what you post and claims.
and non-communicative posts always have me shaking my head. WTF? Do even you understand the exact point you're trying to make?I guess I'm gonna have to 'splain it to ya'!
First of all, click the embedded link in my post for referenced quote to support the statement I made. Hint: that's the underlined and blue text "Audiobyte Hydra Z" . I've embedded the link again here so you don't have to return to my original post. But do anyway to understand that I referenced my observation from the very start.
Do you understand now?
"I've decided to add the comparison of the Audiophilleo and the Audiobyte Hydra-X here and updated the thread title. I owned both and had to choose one as I am not the collector type. I kept the Audiophilleo. "
Ok, so he has the Hydra X, not the Z.

.
he (nor anyone else for that matter) has the foggiest clue as how his *response* relates to my observation about the comparison between the AP and the Hydra found within the linked source to which I refer.edit: Now I wonder whether or not he understands how to view the embedded video.

Fred be confused!!
News of the optimiser has optimised my day.
let it be! Have a wonderfully optimizated day!
