Looks like you are using both for local playback.
In this case you can simply disable DLNA.
Cplay is ASIO only, for a fair comparison use ASIO in JRiver as well (17 supports ASIO, forgot if 16 does as well)
WASAPI must be used with “Open device for Exclusive access” checked otherwise you are listening to the Win mixer.

Hey V,
Actually the dlna is a must. The whole reason I am even messing with jriver is to be able to move everything to another room but still control.
Long story but it has to do with trying to fit the system in a common space. The monitor and mouse have to go for that to be viable. So dlna is the way I think.
Yeah I agree that asio would be a fair test but I have been hearing about how great wasapi is on w7 and if I used asio I couldnt switch between players for my informal test.
Anyhow I dont think I am going down the dlna path since the software is kind of buggy it seems and the "add to que" mentality is frustrating if you dont have a need for playlists....or if you would like advanced control like fast forward.

Be sure and test your DLNA playback for gapless (See Linked thread.)

I dont have much content that needs to be gapless and well I dont care too much if there is a gap for the content that needs gapless.
Heck sometimes I would kill for the whole album to play! Often I select it and only the 1st song plays.
Anyhow given how flakey dlna has been I can see where gapless playback HAS to be at the bottom of the list.
