I like it because the HEPA filters mean less dust around the house.
I use a "sound spa" clock radio/ipod dock I got as a Christmas gift - padreken 13:57:56 03/30/08 (0)
It's got several background noise settings (surf, rain, waterfall, etc).
It was less than $100 at Bed, Bath & Beyond my budget on sale.
I've found that an FM offset on a hotel clock radio will accomplish much the same thing when traveling.
