Hi,
Would like to seek confirmation from members if the 6LX6 tube is a drop in replacement for the 6LF6 tube. From the information available in the net it appears to be so. Intend to use it in my NYAL OTL3 amps.
Thanks and Rgds,
Nara

I found this on a site called "world tube company"
that seems to confirm the match.
Beam Power Pentode
6LF6's, 6MH6's, and 6LX6's are all the exact same tube.
The 6LF6 / 6MH6 / 6LX6 Vacuum Tube is a duodecar type used in Linear Amplifiers and as a horizontal-deflection amplifier in color tv receivers. It requires a duodecar 12-contact socket.
Electrical Data:
Heater Voltage ................................ 6.3 V
Heater Current ................................ 2.0 A
Prefered Substitutes ........................6LF6, 6KD6, 6LX6, 6MH6
Substitutes ................................ 6JS6 6KN6, 6LB6, 6LR6
For the sake of Accuracy.
6LX6 is not the same as 6LF6. Look it up on the internet.
6LF6 is the better tube.
1) LF6 is conservatively rated at 40 Watts plate disapation.
2) Inter electrode capacitances are slightly different
3) LX6 is the same as 8950 except heater voltage
4) LX6 is rated TOPS for 33 watts Plate disapation.
5) In color TV,s. Sometimes the horizontal circuit required adjustment
when changing from 6LF6 to 6LX6 & 27LF6 to 26LX6.
6) As an audio power tube. My feeling is. That the bias cannot be hot for
a LX6 due to the 33 watts plate disapation. 6LV6 35 watts plate
disapation. 6MH6 35 watts plate dissapation MAX.
All I can tell you is that your post stimulated me to do an internet search, and the search seems to confirm that 6LF6/6LX6/6MH6 are one and the same. I had never heard of the 6LX6 designation prior to now.
