Agreed in a way. I'm not totally attuned to any of the 9ths I have. Right now, it's between Toscanini and Herreweghe. Szell also has an excellent version.

I may be in a minority here, but I think Karajan's '77 version with Baltsa and Van Dam is totally compelling.
