Does anyone know which album has the version of "Crying" with Roy Obision and K.D. Lang? I checked out their individual albums and I can only find the one by Obision alone.

However, for audio samples you'll need to hit elsewhere. All music Guide is quite extensive in it's information on releases album discography etc.
I use it all the time when researching songs for eventual purchases or what have you.
Hope this helps.

John (and anyone else who may read this),Where do you go most frequently for audio samples? There's
CDNOW, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and the other
major online retailers. Do you know of any other sites that have
more and/or better audio samples? I happen to like CD NOW
simply because most of the newer titles have decent quality
samples (i.e., MP3 versus Real Audio). Any help is appreciated.Joe
Personally, MP3 may not be anybetter than Real Audio. Especially if you have the G2 version of RA player. It's most likely how it's digitized that will often determine it's overall sound quality. I've run across stuff that has been digitized hot and sounds somewhat distorted-others low.Mainly, it's your codec and or the codec of the audio sample that'll determine your quality. I find that Tower Records is inconsistant. Columbia House, though you have to be a member does allow for Windows media, RA or RA G2 use. Just click on the appropriate column.
Nice thing about Columbia House is that you can get samples of all of the tracks on a particular album, whereas Tower Records does not. Takes a little finding and searching to find the particular disc w/ the track that you want that's sampled.
Other than that, not done much searching for other sample sources.

John,Thanks for your thoughts. I agree that there is a lot of variability
in quality. I have the newer G2 Real Audio player, and it can be
decent at times. On balance, however, I find that the MP3s and
Windows Media Player files sound better. One thing about MP3
that I like is that it plays in my browser automatically--no waiting
for another application to open. The music clubs offer lots of
samples now, and that's a benefit.Overall it appears that you and I are about equal in our
explorations to date, but I suspect you know much more about
the inner workings of these matters. Regardless of how it works
it is nice to have opportunities to sample before buying. Thanks
again for your comments.Regards,
Joe
.
According to All Music Guide, the duet is track 4 on Orbison's
1992 King of Hearts album. Hope this helps.BTW, it's a great duet.
Joe
That's great. What is All Music Guide (on the internet by any chance)? Thanks!
