This is the kind of stuff I'm after.
Is the closest we get to how Mahler (and his contemporaries) did it.
He pretty much conducted the music the Mahler himself prepared and led
performances. He attended rehersals of the 4th, and faithfully annotated his copy if the score with everything Mahler did. No wonder Mahler loved him.Abendroth is also of the same style.
