This is their annual regular gown appearance.
What do you think of the "girlies?"
Gilbert is formerly Cleveland resident conductor, where is he going again (I'm lazy today), and jaap van zweden will take over next season.

Follow Ups:
hilarious, first saw these gowns (more flowery then) when the late Maazel was the conductor.
Noted a lot of Asian musicians in NY. Around here, lots of Asian musicians in both high school and youth orchestra (over 80%).
See link for my kid's high school orchestral performance winning "the Orchestra Cup" playing in Tully Hall.
Didn't realize Alan Gilbert had a Cleveland connection..... I've always liked him, although he does have quite a few detractors......The only Diamond Bar I know about is in California (Los Angeles)..... This was an **excellent** performance!! It's so hard to get the phrasing right with Brahms with any orchestra, let alone a youth or especially a high school orchestra. Great articulation too.
My biggest gripe about major orchestra performances today is that the musicians would rather be buried in the rest of the orchestra than play boldly. This is where the performance stood out. The musicians were fearless. They played boldly. Something you don't encounter too often nowadays. (I'd rather hear a bunch of wrong notes trying to get the spirit of the music right than timidly getting all the notes right.)

High praise from a tough critic. Thanks.
Yep, there are amazingly good aspects to the performance and I am so proud of them. My kid basically ran the group and trip for 2 yrs, helping the conductor. Our special concerts were rehearsed and conducted by pianist and USC associate conductor Set Ahn, who deserves much of the musical credit.
you'll need a Real Doc!
Those colorful Gowns look pretty stupid tho.
I am a real one!
Some of them Girlies be tough!
Keep on practicing and performing yourself.
