Fauré's complete music for cello - a new BIS release:
I've been downloading other recent BIS titles too, including the Gluzman/Gaffigan/Lucerne Brahms Violin Concerto and the Alexandre Kantorow Russian Piano Music album (Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Balakirev). I love multichannel for solo and chamber music too, and all these titles are great examples of multi-channel engineering!
In additioun, BIS recently made available the multi-channel download of a two-channel download I'd previously purchased (Elgar's Symphony No. 2 etc with Oramo/Stockholm), so I was able to download the multi-channel incarnation for free, once it became available. I must say again that this is wonderful customer service on the part of BIS!

Another good one from Finland?
What think of his Sibelius cycle with City of Birmingham?
OK, 10 years ago but I'm a bit behind. ;-)
I guess it was recorded just prior to when so many Sibelius cycles started being recorded in hi-rez, and it seemed to pass under the radar of a lot of discussions and critical notices. But in any case, I thought the plain old CD (16/44.1) SQ was very good indeed.
