Painstakingly-sculpted!Whiplash-inducing tempo changes, vulgar application of light and shade, micro-managed phrasing and articulation that borders on the pedantic...not one measure is left unmolested.
I stopped after the 1st mov't, which Honeck mistakes for Strauss' Alpine Symphony: Sunrise, man taking brisk walk in mountain, mountain mocks man, man falls down mountain, mountain animals laugh, barometer drops, humidity rises, storm's a brewin', storm directly overhead, storm passing, humble choral thanking God for surviving storm.... Every passage capable of projecting subjective, metaphorical overtones (nature!) is milked to death, at the expense of overall coherence. The final horn-calls lack decisiveness, too.
Next.

"Oooooof!"
But I think your descriptions are more applicable to recordings such as the Sudbin album of the Beethoven first two piano concertos! ;-)
I don't as many Beethoven PC 1's as I should, but I listened to Argerich/Sinopoli quite a bit. It turned out to be a valuable record, too.
I don't recall getting distracted by Sudbin's touches.
