Was listening to the famous Steve Lacy Mal Waldron "live a Dreher 1981"
and their version of Round Midnight for me is fantastic.
Sure it is different from the other versions mentioned. Love it.
I just picked up the MULLIGAN MEETS MONK lp, and their version has become one of my favorites. But it is such a great tune that it is open to so many different interpretations.
I think Wes Montgomery is up there with the best. Bluesy and soulful. Nice
