The SF Peninsula has a Jazz club only blocks away from where I live in San Carlos, California. It was open almost a year before I discovered it as I guess I don't tune into our area jazz station as much anymore.Jeri Brown is the draw this Fri and Sat. The entire group really jelled together to deliver a compelling musical experience (although the vocalist hadn't played with the group it seemed as she kept asking them can you do this and they shook their head 'no' and played it anyway).
I got all my usual friends together and we could have been 25% of the audience. Parking is EASY and on the same block. What's stopping people from attending?? It's a small club, but there was some space still left, and my guess is that is holds 60.
I'm always hesitant to recommend jazz performances because IMO it is always hit or miss, but you will never experience great performances unless you are willing to be underwhelmed sometimes. I was not.

never could figure out how they stayed open.
Glad to hear they are still operating.

The owner is a just a bit on the unfriendly side. I think there are musicians that don't like to play there. At least the one in the city. In the city Bird and Beckett gets excellent players and is the place to be, especially when Grant Levin is playing. Maybe the one in the peninsula will attract different and better player. I'll keep an eye out. T456
