You may see recommendations for HIP versions of this music, so, later on this thread, we might have verbal fisticuffs over HIP for the third time in a month! ;-)
I'm not sure if my current favorite set of Brandenburgs. . .
. . . is available on vinyl. Some Tacet recordings are available on vinyl, but that doesn't appear to be the case with this album.
Follow Ups:
I used to have the Stuttgart CO LPs and I thought they were dynamic and good sounding.....
Then came Reinhardt Goebel and dynamic took on a new meaning.
Still like that set but prefer Il Giardino Armonico - just as dynamic but a bit more subtle.
And Munchinger had already been dead for ten years. I think Benjamin Hudson is the nominal leader on the Tacet recording.
Give this newer recording a listen - it will blow your HIP recordings out of the water! ;-) (As one Amazon poster headlined, "Edge of your seat dynamics".)
A possible problem is that, AFAIR, it's available only as a DVD-Audio or blu-ray audio, so, depending on what your set up is, it may or may not work for you.

pioneering HIPster, David Munrow is one of the recorder players.

Travis, I believe that you may have your Philips recordings confused. I don't have the Marriner, but Munrow plays on the other Philips recording, with Raymond Leppard conducting the English Chamber Orchestra. One of my favorites.
Discogs to the rescue.

Check out the album cover. The soloists in the album that the OP showed are: Henryyk Szeryng, Jean-pierre Rampal, Heinz Holliger, Carl Pini, Michala Petri, etc.

You may be right. At some point I had three different Brandenburgs with Munrow. Dumped 'em.
Sad.

Chris,Thanks for the reply. As I said I am new to this and had to search to find out what HIP is. To tell you the truth it doesn't sound like something I am ready to concern myself with. Like everything else I listen to I only care if I enjoy the music. I am guessing the version I have is not HIP, but I don't really know.
So if people have come to this thread to argue about HIP, please move on and start your own thread.
Thanks
