Rodeo and Billy the Kid, etc....
Reviews are all over the map, so anyone here hear them all? I like smooth strings and large, roomy sound stage, but also performances that measure up to Bernstein.
Follow Ups:
Looks as if my comments about the Slatkin/Detroit disc originally appeared in the Hi-Rez forum rather than here on the Music forum. Performances are just slightly more relaxed than Bernstein's.
I liked Slatkin's old Vox Box Rachmaninov Symphonies with the St Louis on Lp.
His Gershwin and Prokofiev? Not so much.
In any case, fabulous string sound!

One of the few nice old things about Detroit.
