One of the best recordings of Beethoven 4th Symphony is on Denon, with Suitner and the Berliner Staatskapelle Orchestra. Sorry, it's digital, but I think it's a wonderful performance and the sound is smooth and reasonably reverberant. I consider it as one of the best recordings I have.

Another is the Chesky reissue with cond. René Leibowitz and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Very good recording, fabulous wide and deep stereo image.

I have not heard Ansermet's performance on CD, but I always liked the LP, and the sound is quite good.
