I just pulled out Boogie with CannedHeat, Pickwick SPC-3614. 1968 remasterd by Steve Vining. What a surprise, 5 stars music, 5 stars recording quality.
Stunning, and a total sleeper easily available in the $5 range.
I've been playing it for the last couple hours, just amazed, and I grew up with The Heat, and had forgotten.........
Follow Ups:
I get such a nostalgia rush from their music that I never even noticed the sonics. Savoy Brown is another of my favorites from that era, with good sound on many of their albums.
With decent sound to boot."Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
Whoa! Really? It's a great record but I've never heard it with anything other than sloppy sonics. I've always regarded it as one of those albums where the music is so good it makes one forget the sound. Be nice not to have to!
I didn't know about Steve Vining. Wow, more than a little surprised that
the man's accomplishments. No wonder I am totally blown away by the Pickwick reissue.Regards,
Lew
