Return to Planar Speaker Asylum
65.15.21.42
I replaced my old 50 RPTV, with a 56" DLPTV. Its musch thinner and fits almost flush with the bookcase frame. The maggies seem to like this a lot, big improvement to the soundstage.
Follow Ups:
Treating the place where you would see your reflection if the wall were covered with mirrors can improve sound-stage. A wool blanket works well for a temporary test.I'm stuck with an older RPTV, and covering it with a couple of blankets for serious listening makes it tolerable.

Interesting suggestion. I'll give it a try.
Thanks
Yep. I cringe at all the picts I see that have a big TV or rack in between the speakers. Kills the sound stage.
There's lots of space behind my 50" RPTV, and my system has a GREAT soundstage and imaging focus. Visitors, after commenting on the solidly centered instrumental images, walk up to the center-channel speaker and are amazed it's not playing.
