Heh, well, it was a slip, and really, I wish I hadn't said it because while a 1.8 is of course in the cards, they haven't even begun designing one and have lots of other stuff to get out the door first. I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking it's around the corner when it's just in the stage of brainstorming what it might be.

Anyway, once they've decided on an approach, they'll need rough prototypes, production engineering, cosmetics, purchasing, and all that. Maybe two years from now? Could be even longer. It's hard to say without knowing what priority it will have -- there are lots of products in the queue.

Well it's simple math, at the very least. If you buy 16 of the better 6 1/2" woofers that are made for OB dipoles from GR Research... you're at $2240/pair just for the speakers and not counting cabinets, plate amps and DSP. Add all that plus Magnepan profit and dealer markup ....
