Certainly. They are set to arrive Jan 5 but who is counting? :). Then we will go thru 6 days of burn in as they have zero hours. I'll give the blow by blow. Bluesy - what amp do u have w your 20.7s if I recall correctly?

Well, I'm going to have to listen to this after the news:
Geez sad news about the legendary Jeff Beck. Rest in Power!
Out of the box they'll impress.
That's good to hear. I guess I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I've put together a fairly lengthy playlist for both rock and jazz. And I just can't put classical in a playlist but have a lot to go thru. This is actually my first attempt at creating playlists. I usually just listen to something in its entirety.
No worry about not being into classical. I'm not either. Maybe I am just not as sophisticated as some of the old guys here, but I like what I like. I'll take Miles live at Carnegie Hall '63 versus Bernstein any time.
Oh I like classical. I just can't put it into playlists as it doesn't feel right to me. The 20.7 do it quite well and I was introduced to it by my son. 3 more days. 😀
I have the VTL S-400. It's the stereo version of the Siegfried monoblocks. They drive the 20.7's beautifully.
I just looked this beast up. Holy #@%!.
You have it in tetrode mode for the 400 wpc?
Haha. I did the exact same thing awhile back.
The first time I heard Maggies (in about 1990), the dealer was driving his IIIAs with a top-of-the-line VTL amp.
The combo made a lasting impression on me - so much so that I bought his IIIAs when he 'jumped ship' to become an Apogee dealer, a couple of years later! :-))
Couldn't afford the VTL amp though.
Would you want the tubes in Australia?
