I have spoken with Don at length about his speakers - this was several years back.
PLease come back to this thread and give me your review !
He told me about his improvements the F design - mostly utilizing better materials and component quality including bracing and interanl sound damping .
a few points in particular I remember :
1) the surrounds he uses do not degrade with time like the originals so the speakers should last a lifetime even if you are a younger person
2) he is one of the few people in the world that has the experience and tooling to make this type of speaker
3) apparently the speakers have been used in a few "money no object" systems because of their ability to scale up to any level of componentry in front of them without being the "weak link"
I asked him what the reaction has been to folks who come over for an audition ?
" I have had grown Men start crying "

Not mine, which will be in bubinga.. More than 300 pounds EACH!
.
The former did not impress me, but the larger ones sure did, and I bought them.. The'll be here in about a month; the bubinga veneer isn't finished.
Sorry for the horrible perspective correction; I can't take a level pic with my cellfone.
How did the big boys sound ?
give me a detailed report on the 1 's .....
