Follow Ups:
You're welcome, my pleasure! I was a Magnepan dealer for many years and you'd be surprised how many times this happens.
Good luck!
When I bought my MMG's (used) they sounded muffled. Found out the fuses were bad. Probably why I got 'em for the price I did as the previous owner probably thought the tweeters were blown. Being that it was a Sunday evening when I first hooked them up (no way to get replacement fuses) I bypassed the fuses and spun some tunes.
Good Call! those pesky fuses!
I'd replacee glass with filled ceramic, but that's just ME.....
I hope that corrects the 'problems'.....
Too much is never enough
I put 4A fuses in my LRS after blowing a few 3As. No issues. No cats.
CAUTION - CAUTION - CAUTION
FUSING: The speaker terminal plate indicates a maximum fuse value of 4 amps — Type 3AG ("normal" or "fast blow"). As a precaution, your speakers have been shipped with 3 amp fuses installed. Never bypass, increase the value beyond 4 amps, or use "slow blow" fuses in these speakers. Our destruct tests indicate it is virtually impossible to burn out the tweeters if the above precautions are observed. NOTE: Burned out tweeters indicate abuse and are not covered by the warranty.
CAT OWNERS: It has been reported that cats will sometimes use Magneplanars for scratching posts. Should you have this problem we suggest cat repellent from your local pet shop.

My cats NEVER messed with my panels. NEVER.......Sock was as pristine the day I sold 'em as when purchased.
Had fuse issues with my MG-1, but that was a 1 1/2amp item.......Never on my 1.6s......
Too much is never enough
My dog looks like a cat.

Looks like he's eyeing-up the smoker as potential hiding place?
