I heard a pair of 2301s drive 3.7s very nicely at Sea Cliff.
Mike Hobson brought some really nice white album vinyl to hear.
Follow Ups:
That is ONE expensive set of amps. In that space? MUCH competition from Krell, Pass and a host of others......
Each of the 2301s uses 8x KT88 output tubes. You might be able to use KT120s, but check with Mac first....
Too much is never enough
my VTL MB-450s which can use 6550s or KT-88s. ;)
And MAYBE KT 120s or KT90 OR even KT100?
I'm looking into the VTA M125 Kit and you can pretty much take your pick from that list.
I don't even know what it comes with 'stock' but gravitate to the 88s based on expense, availability and sonics.....
Each monoblcok takes 4x of 'em....

Nope. Bea recommends using Gold Lion KT-88s with MB-450s of all generations. VTL does not support the use of those other tube types with current product.
Is the VTL amp in question Auto Bias? That might make a difference.
Also? the different tubes might be 'best' with slighly different resistor values??
Too much is never enough
current series III version is. VTL's tube suggestions are independent of that question.
