Shumi, I am still surprised that these were refurbished by Magnepan. The finish is very much DIY.
Hi Roger,
yes they were refurbished at the factory. Not sure why you are not happy with them. Mylard is nice and tight, no wrinkles except for one very small on the very top of my left speaker which does not come into play... and I measured them to be within 0.5 db of each other, and of course they sound amazing.
Well, is the wiring really straight and well layed? The adhesive seems to be unevenly spread out.
Here is Magnepan's development/voicing room in their factory.
Must be something to it if the factory does it. I'm really thinking about doing it.
Go for it!!! Notice my custom modes to my listening chair to ensure perfect alignment with sweet spot in the vertical axis....try to do that in a living room with the wife lurking around!
Lol Nice Chair! I'll probably try do it in a few days,I have new tubes for my preamp coming today and I want to deal with that for a few days first.
skypop, not sure if we talked about this in previous posts, but if you already do not have it, I recommend you get yourself a usb mic and a mic stand in order to use rew to measure and optimize your system.
I had one years ago when I was setting up my home theater than sold it after I was finished. So I already have a boom mic stand just need to pick up another mic. I put the new tubes in my preamp yesterday and letting them play for the whole wknd,so during the week I'll have a better idea if I'm going to take the socks off.
