How many inches do these stands raise the speakers from the factory stands? Can the rise be adjusted on these stands? I am considering them for my 1.6's but there is WAF to contend with.
Follow Ups:
They raise the speakers 4" inches off the floor. Not adjustable.
Stands make a HUGE difference in sound and clarity.
Isn't it the height of your ears that counts, and not your speakers? Raising the speakers is mostly the same as lowering your ears. I seem to have learned that > 50 years ago.
So what is the optimum ear height to the speakers? Mine are just about halfway up from the bottom of the 1.6's.
Project a laser beam at a 90 degree angle from dead centre of the tweeter at your listening seat, the laser beam should hit your ear's height. Maggie's don't sound better vertical as opposed to tilted, or vica-versa, it all come's down to dialing in your chair + Maggie's to achieve this. A higher sit might require some tilt, where as a lower sit would be fine with a vertical stance.
In the real world, there is a large margin before you start to notice you're out of the "sweet spot", but if you're anal about set-up, this is the way to go.
"Mine are just about halfway up from the bottom of the 1.6's"
In this situation, with the Maggies vertical, you're a bit off, the tweeters centre is slightly above the middle of the 1.6's.
You nailed it!
has the bottom of the panels on the floor - so no 'lift' whatsoever.
But if WAF is key for you ... you might like to consider "Magnastand'ing" your 1.6s. See the new web-site:

Her reaction - NO! he likes the simple factory looks. But I am looking for improved stability from front to back rocking.
4 inches on my LRS.
No adjustment.
Maggies need to be vertical. No smearing of sound.
Thanks. 4 inches is too high for WAF compliance!
Perhaps the question I should ask is there a stand other than Mye that's more stable than the factory and does not raise the speakers?
