Return to Planar Speaker Asylum

Haven't seen this addressed, but I'm curious - has anyone tried stacked or otherwise multiple LRS versus something a bit higher up the Maggie line?

Though?
The Carvers could certainly be done at a much lower cost, and surely would sound impressive.
My thoughts for LRS?
Stacked vertically, with top to top, in a solid frame. Don't think I could justify the size & cost of 4 pair to stack, AND "kiss" them.
I have side stacked 1.6 + 1.5. The second pair adds another dimension of everything - more dynamics, cleaner sound/less distortion (as they do not need to be pushed as hard), more presence of voices. Shall I go on...?
I have tested this setup for almost two years and I cannot go back to "only" one pair of maggies ever since... I still want more slam, but it is most likely due to room/speaker setup.
They are on top of this running high pass @ 80hz and matched with 4 x 15 inches in closed boxes, 2 per side. Some music still lacks a bit of slam IMHO...
.
My feeling that you "haven't seen this addressed" is because it's a bit unusual.
Hang 'em from the ceiling?
If you use two per side, do you put tweets inside, outside, together on
each side, opposing on each side, or ???
Sounds like a project to keep you busy for quite a while! Try it and
let us know the results!

Easy, build (if you are able) or have a carpenter construct a stand similar to those made for stacked Quads.
Being a teen at Victor's Stereo in Chicago. Stacked Quads in those frames, coffin like subs and Mark Levinson Amps everywhere. They humored me and played some of my music.

You would orientate them top-to-top. ie, the one above would be upside down, and also left/right swapped so the tweeter alignment is the same.
That said, 1.7's would still be preferable. :)
Dave.
Perhaps, to help the OP, you need to provide the reasons why this is so, Davey? (Rather than just saying it will be so.)
