I just use the stands that magnepan provides. The speakers are in a free state. Those aftermarket stands that attach to the sides have to put the frame in a slight twist. If the frame distorts just a little so does the diaphragm.

You obviously haven't seen how the Mye stands are engineered and how they attach, else you wouldn't make such ignorant comments.
What are you talking about?
Too much is never enough
Not true. They do not need to, nor do they, put the frame in a twist. They simply hold the panels rigidly.
They are already rigid.
Hardly. You know not of what you speak.
Magnepan frames are made of MDF and any of the models can easily be twisted.
Stating that aftermarket stands "have to put the frame in a slight twist" is complete nonsense and impugns Grant's excellent products.
Dave.
I use Mye stands on my 3.6's well worth the money

That part is an opinion, stating my stands twist the panels is simply incorrect.
