Hi ,I bought my rebuilt (2008) by the factory MG3A back in 2013 . I bought it for $750 shipping not included . It had a Magnepan 3.6 Box ( used by the factory when they shipped it back to the owner . All the manuals and the miscellaneous fuses & resistors and a copy of the bill for the rebuild around ( $ 1200 ) . They were mint . I bought it from a fellow inmate of the audioasylum . Love the speaker , I used it in my vintage system . I've heard the 1.7 and for me I still prefer the MG3A

By the way as an advises given by our fellow inmates in the Magnepan forum , the parts for the external crossover box should be upgraded to better capacitors . And I believe in it . I drove my MG3A w/ my ARC REF 610T monoblocks w/ the KT120 upgrade ( 840 watts / channel) and it did not sound good . But when I'm driving them by active biamping using my ARC EC21 electronic tube crossover network powered by a pair of ARC D79B all tube power amps they sound sublime .

Even better to use an active crossover and use 4 channels of power amplification. Maybe this, https://diyaudiostore.com/products/diy-biamp-6-24-crossover
Thanks for the tip Roger .
