Thank you for the tips. Did you make the new socks smaller than the panels then stretch them to fit over the speakers? What fabric did you use?
Someone has mentioned that Spandex is also good for Maggie socks also.

The wife made them from speaker grill cloth I picked up at PartsExpress. She made a couple of test fits so the final socks fit nice and taut once they were stretched over the panels. Once the socks were stretched over each panel I used black thumb tacks (instead of staples) along with a little hot glue to seal the ends of the socks shut. They turned out great and saved me some coin in the end.

I have everything except for the thinner wooden pieces next to the front cover. Where do they go? I think I figured out the re-assembly steps for the wings and front cover.
