What stands ? What Maggies Models ?I have seen people screw casters into the threaded spike holders of MyeStands before.
I just put the plastic furniture movers under the stands and move them.

Stock stands with 1.7i
If you have a bad back sure, absolutely.Otherwise I'd personally just lift them (1.7 or smaller). And I guess it depends on the carpet but to me it seems like it would slide right off those disc, not to mention they'd look kind of weird resting on them (to me anyway).

You are right. They are ugly looking and I don't think they were meant to stay under a load flr long time.
I will go with casters. Does having both stands bolted to a wood panel improve the sound?
That wood dolly from habor freight looks decent. I was thinking to just bolt the maggie stands to that wood dolly. I have not check the dimensions.
I wonder how many users here have diy magnepan stands and if it was worth it.
Just out of curiosity: are the 1.7's too heavy for you to manage without mechanical support or is it a situation where you 'have' to move them in-between each listening session?

I have to move them after listening. Very limited space and not much leverage to lift. Just want it to be effortless to move them.
I use some furniture dolly's from Harbor Freight, you know the made in China store. But what the heck they work, and I was having problems finding some, even online.
Oops, I must have brain farted back then, now I see a lot of them online.
I'm using them while I play with positioning but they can certainly be used if you regularly move them out of the way when you're done listening.

Steve
