I purchased the Cardas CCGR-FS short posts but they were still about 3/16" too long. The main reason was price and I was wrong in my earlier post on that. They were even cheaper at only $34.95 a dual set or 2 pairs of posts. The metal (copper) was very soft and very easy to cut. Do they make even shorter ones? Anyway, I searched everywhere and these guys had the best prices by far. Standard shipping from Canada was about 4 or 5 days.

I also got these fuses which were the cheapest good quality ones around and anything else would have been more than double that. As I said before they didn't have the 2.5 amp spec so I went with the 3.15. They do have the 2 amp. I feel ok with the higher rating with some people bypassing the fuses altogether. I needed fast-blo and it seems like alot of them are so-blo.
Make sure you clean or polish your old fuse holders. I sanded mine with 220. I bought new cryo holders from PCX also but they needed too much modification to install so they are basically scrap now.

I hope you got the fast-blo ones. The slow-blo will not protect at all. I prefer solder type fuses as they get rid of the nasty fuse holders.
Yup, got the fast blo and these were the only ones I can find without spending way more. I wonder why are there so many so-blo around.

Here's a pic. You do need a wrench to tighten or loosen. And I had to ream the back Maggie plate a bit so the posts would fit. I am using a standard 12 ga wire with cheapo spades there and am bi-amping using a Mac MC7106 6 channel amp. It sounds really good.
FWIW I have a set of spare Audioquest Crystal speaker wires rigged for stereo. I just purchased AQ Type 8 wires on eBay. These have spades on one end and bare wires on the other. I will plug the Type 8 into my outboard XO for the base and I'll use the Crystal direct to the speakers for the mid & highs (per Mag. instructions). I think my Krell KAV-500 might have more balls than the Mac. I think I'll switch it with the Mac then and see how it does.

That looks great Skeepowder! It looks like the speakers came that way, which I like. I have some of those Cardas binding posts, but the new one I referred to is a really different kind of binding post using a single knob to tighten both the + and - posts. You have to see a pic to understand, it's too hard to describe accurately! There is a page on it on the Cardas Audio site. The model designation is CPBP, with a number of options in post length, plating, etc. It is about only 1/2" deep with the shortest post option, which I'm hoping is shallow enough to fit in the space behind the mounting plate without any surgery needed. I'll find out tomorrow.
And post photos.
It may sound unbelievable, but I: 1- No longer have a digital camera (mine was stolen out of my car), and 2- Don't have a smart phone, just my good ol' flip phone. What a luddite! Maybe I can borrow my sisters phone to take a pic, and get it into the computer. I'm surprised I can even do that!
Those are cool but are also $86 bucks per speaker. I might need a set of those or something because I still have the standard Maggie connectors on my crossover box.
If you can't get a camera then just send smoke signals.

Ouch! I hadn't priced them, and that's pretty stiff. Especially since I need posts for Tympani's, which have twice as many connectors---a set for the bass panels and the m/t panels per side---four pair of posts!I had a Cardas dealer friend (Brooks Berdan) who sold me stuff at his cost, but he's now R.I.P. I have a couple sets of the CCGR S (gold plated billet copper posts and nuts, short length) left, which have 3/4" behind the mounting surface. They'll do just fine, hopefully.
Skeepowder, your Cardas CCGR FS "Flush Mount" posts have a much shorter nut than the other Cardas models, making it perhaps still possible to fold Tympani panels with them installed together for shipping. Cool!

You can take the post screw all the way out of the post and that makes the Cardas posts about an 1/8" shorter. I held up one of my old Maggie posts for reference. It's backwards there and the red washer would count in the length.I think you are confusing the price and quantity on these. They are $34.95 for 2 "duals" or pairs. That is the 2 duals (4 posts) shown in the pic and are what each of my speakers needed. Aren't yours set up the same way?

$70 plus shipping would cover both speakers.Bobber

Well, if you put it that way Skeepowder! Actually, though the terminals are on different panels rather than side-by-side as on yours, you are correct---all that is required is one set of binding posts per bass panel and one per m/t panel, so 4 sets per speaker pair, not per speaker. Half as much! That I'm willing to do. Pics in a couple of days---I taped off my entire new music room today, painting it tomorrow. A gig on Thursday (and Saturday), so hopefully I can open up a speaker on Friday and take a look inside. Thanks for the info!
