Well, corner seating pretty much just plain sucks. But you can solve the problem with a bit of absorptive wall treatment. The most basic version would be hanging a substantial pice of fabric on the corner, like a rug or quilt.
To accommodate the corner seat the plane of the speakers would go in a diagonal relative to the room and roughly perpendicular to the listening axis. Works well in very square rooms and in very ong rooms like yours looks to be as it allows larger spacing of the speakers than could be had with placement across the short width. The starting point would be to create an equilateral triangle and move the plane of the speakers back and forth and adjusting the distance between the speakers at each position till you find the best placement.
As you work through the listening distance and speaker spread adjustment, try to keep consistent toe in angles relative to your seat.
Follow Ups:
I am planning to put curtains (wall to wall, ceiling to floor) across the glass slider and in place of the plastic vertical blinds). I could continue them with curtain panels behind the TV and chair. I'll post pictures tonight of where I am with the current furnishings and placement.
Are typical lined blackout curtains sufficient to provide acoustic dampening?
Not entirely, as their frequency coverage is limited, but yes, it is quite effective in the upper midrange and treble, which is most of the reflection problem - but not all of it..
