Return to Planar Speaker Asylum
75.190.7.1
There are 2 sets of speakers for sale that I am currently interrested in, both for around $500. The first is a pristine looking set of MG 12QR's, and the other is a set of 1.5QR's that are in equally good condition. I am familiar with the traditional failure points of Maggie's and so on. But I am not familiar with the plus''s and minus's of the various models. Any advice one way or another would be appreciated. For the sake of argument, let's assume that the major issues are not present and/or have been addressed. Which would be the better choice from a musical point of view? Thanks in advance for any and all advice!
The problem with making things idiot proof is that idiots are so damned creative.

take the 1.5. It has a bigger bass section and is taller so would fill a room better and retain line source behavior down to a lower frequency. Just plain more speaker for the money.
position at one point, but first, what is the size of your listening site?
