Potential Trump re-entry.
I think he is doing good, close to great job on Ukraine, but overall he still is just a C- President.
I still feel he should announce in 2023 not running in 2024, to give his party a fighting chance.
Follow Ups:
...Trump was elected by the "anti-Hillary" camp. Biden was elected by the "anti-Trump" camp. Neither party has a "winning candidate" (or should I say a specific qualified candidate) "groomed" and ready to go for 2024. Once again, we'll get our pick of dumb or dumber with the most money behind them.
So what two marginally-competent aging white men will we get to choose from for this next cycle? Or will the Dems stand behind the current policy of "only females of color need apply?"--for any Federal position.

yes, HillBillery, Billery, Shrillery, etc..isnt the kind of candidate that will sway any voters. Her vote count was set on day one of campaign.
I was in a bar in fall of 2016 and the yokels there had fox news on and trump was making some whistle stop speech somewhere and speaking in broken sentences and making no sense.
One of the younger yokels said to one the "elders", "I have no idea what he's talking about"
the elder said to the younger, "he's sayin' we aint giving our money to baby making n***ers any more"
the younger said, "you got all that from that", or something like that.
the elder said a line similar to Jack Nicholson in the movie Hoffa.
he said "boy, you're listening to the words and not hearin' the melody"
I texted my sister Trump is gonna win, book it.
Than Trump. He loves it.
to type wearing that white sheet.
Do you really believe that I am racist? Without knowing anything about me other than I have politically different views than you? So I must be racist?
Let me ask you this, which party supports the aborting of millions of black babies in the name of healthcare? THAT sounds racist to me.
Show me one thing I have ever posted here or anywhere that would suggest I am a racist. I guarantee you will find NOTHING!
F you! You are just another idiot who can't stand someone who doesn't agree with them politically so you call them racist. Weak stuff bro. Self reflection is your friend!

...I would have, last election cycle, if the party had not put-up a career politician almost as old as my father--and trust me, my father is much more mentally sound than our Prez.

I agree.
...just give me a competent/qualified candidate--and not limit the qualifications to "female of color" (reverse discrimination) and we'll all be good to go. Just like there is a minimum age to serve as President--there should also be a maximum allowed. Lots of corporations have mandatory retirement ages--for a reason.

Non-Starter.
As long as pols are part of the larger corporate structure, it'll be business as usual with everycouple years one being discovered DEAD as his or her desk.
Why would ANY 88 year old woman WANT to be Senator? Several others in the 80s.....with AVERAGE age rising every election.
I wouldn't know where to start to unravel THIS mess.......
Too much is never enough
...for all elected offices--local, state, and federal. A desire to perform public service is one thing, but being a career politician is a whole different scenario, and a huge problem.
Sure, if you want to go from state rep to governor, then keep going. If you want to go from a Senator or Governor to the Presidency, then keep going. But if you want to be a Senator in one state, in the same district for the remainder of your natural life--NO. You've got X# of terms/years to accomplish what you want to accomplish, and that's it. Move up or move out.
There should not be "seniority" in the House and Senate. Not saying that "junior" members of Congress aren't bought and paid for before they are elected, but they shouldn't be allowed to hang-around forever and then gain "influence".

Exactly......Unintended consequences when simply saying 'you can serve X years and out'....
Might be better to impose an AGE limit. Like everyone else required to retire at some point.
Other 'fixes'? Can't go from government to lobbyist.
Get rid of Corporate Personhood. If it can't be Executed.....It's not a person.
Simply BAN or severely Modify 'Soft Money'......
Campaign spending CAPS based on Number of Registered Voters, Cost of Living and office.
President is a higher limit per voter than ANY State Office.
Congressional Redistricting is handled BY COMPUTer which draws boundries based on equal population and shortest border. No more 'safe districts' and populist drawing of lines.....
Too much is never enough
That all sounds fine and dandy, but, what Congress is going to impose a term limit on itself?
That's the sticky wicket.
****
We are inclusive and diverse. But dissent will not be tolerated.
I tend to agree about term limits but I think we need to bear in mind that it takes a while for pols to gain expertise in policy and legislation. They also need to develop good working relations both within their party and with the opposing party. Not that easy to come up with a sensible time limit.

Last time I checked Hillary wasn't "of color" no matter how hard she tried.
But right now the most reliable voting base for Democrats are "of color" so there is that, too.
But I agree, as things stand right now, aside from Trump and Biden, it is not clear at all who might be viable in the general, though DeSantis clearly has his eye on it, though I think he appeals to the current radicalized GOP than the general population.

I remember how everyone laughed when he did the transplants.
But he is now having the last laugh.
Vic, you forgot to say he's a gentleman.
I am envious of you. I wish he was my Senator.
I would just like to see him debating the fat dumb fuck - then you can call me a traitor! :)
