are going to see it. They will see it as a feeble old man further declaring war on our oil and gas producers when we already have the highest prices recorded in American history. I'm sure that will work out well for the Dems at the polls. TRUTH!
Follow Ups:
The American public doesn't do nuance, isn't interested in detail, and above all, refuses to accept any responsibility for anything it does. Check out the parking lot at any shopping center, you'll see why we've got high gas prices and it has nothing to do with Joe Biden.
Americans have the power to lower gas prices by using less. But conservation is un-American. Spending way too much money on way more car than you need, and driving everywhere, even down to the mailbox on the corner. That's the ticket.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
But Trump doesn't deserve credit for gas prices dropping below $2. I was filling up for several months at $1.47/gal.
Average gas prices.....
Average gas price after Trump was in office for 2 years......

The last time gas prices were this high, Obama had just been inaugurated. By his last year in office, the price per gallon had dropped about 50%. He doesn't deserve the credit, just like neither he nor W deserved blame for $4/gallon gas.
If Trump had been re-elected, we'd be (incorrectly) blaming him for high gas prices instead of Biden. Because we still would have had high gas prices. And inflation.
Energy companies overproduced and got caught with their pants down during the pandemic. They say they're not going to make that mistake again (though they probably will). They're not going to increase production and we all need to get used to higher prices. Tough titty.
Americans failed to learn any lessons from Katrina, for that matter from the oil shocks of the 1970s. We want big cars, vehicles that are more about ego stroke than transportation needs. Americans think cheap gas is a birthright, then they roll out the door and mortgage the next 9 years for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer and cry like toddlers when it costs $80 to fill the tank.
Americans love the free market and want government to butt out until the free market bites them on the ass. Then they demand that government "do something."
We're a nation of spoiled children, far beyond the control of any president.

thick as a brick
It sucks to get old. It really sucks to get old and bitter.
He's just one of the many distracted by phony partisanship. Our leaders do what they can to trick us into playing the right-left game so we won't notice that our pockets are getting picked and that our freedoms are an illusion.
BTW, did you know that Ian Anderson wrote Thick As A Brick as a prog-rock satire?

You want to stick up for him be my guest.
The guy is a mean old closed minded, bigoted, intellectual lightweight bouncing around in the echo chamber of the other closed minded sudo-power brokers trying to tell everyone what to think. He doesn't have neuron in his brain that could spark an informed, let alone intelligent opinion on his own.
It sucks to get old. It really sucks to get old and bitter.

I just have differing opinions than yours and don't agree with the Liberal BS. And I don't give 2 shits how much you dislike it. So get used to it.
Satire you say? I did not know that, but in retrospect, it makes perfect sense.
"Your sperm's in the gutter and your love's in the sink." Aside from the very Vogonity of the poetry, and the underlying metaphor, it does make more sense when viewed as a satire.
I learnt something today.
Not a great record, but my favorite from Jethro Tull.
