the 'B' team prosecution didn't mount much of a case either
the DA had other things to do ... sent a deputy DA
the damn judge acted like his nephew was up on charges and ran interference
while performing a Judge Alito crossed with Roy Bean impersonation
yeah, travesty indeed
Follow Ups:
The DA knew this case was a loser, OBVIOUSLY. good lord.
that judge was either incompetent or an activist jurist through his pretrial decisions, the jury instructions, the trial, and the post trial deliberation instructions ... while the State mounted an incompetent prosecution starting with their charging documents on gun charges, then throughout the trial ... such as ignoring the judge's instructions on what was admissible evidence, and ignoring / not pouncing on the defendants statement that he defended himself using 'deadly force' ... an admission he intended to shoot to kill!!
the whole affair should have been a mistrial and adjudicated again
good lord indeed
