Good news? Ford's killing the Yechho-Sport.
Good news? It never sold well in the US. Apparently there are lows to which even slack-jawed US consumers will not go.
Bad news? Ford sold the Yeccho-Sport as the replacement for two cars, the Focus and Fiesta, both of which were superior vehicles, both of which sold better than the Yechho, and both of which were less expensive. Neither of the cars will be coming back to the US market.
Bad news? In all likelihood, the Yechho-Sport would have soldiered on despite poor sales and despite being a shitbox if it were built anywhere else but India.
Bad news? The Toyota CH-R, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Venue, Honda HRV, Chevy Trailblazer et al are still in production.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
Follow Ups:
...any/all of the small vehicles (whether you love 'em or hate 'em) are going away due to lack of interest. Even the (formerly) small cars, that still exist and sell really well, are getting bigger with every generation.
By the time you are ready to replace the Mrs' car, there will be only SUVs and trucks left (although the minivan is making a come-back), and the Civic will be the size of a Taurus.
Smallest things left in the Ford line-up is the Escape, and the ONLY car--the Mustang. GM and Stellantis aren't far behind.
"So I talk to the night, I head for the light, try and hold it on the road. Thank God for the man who put
the white lines on the highway"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
I'm not going to buy a brand new truck or SUV. Period.
BTW, there's too much interest in small SUVs. Buyers didn't like the EcoSport because it was garbage but it wasn't cheap. In theory, a Chevy Trailblazer is less expensive than an EcoSport and it's at least a new design. The EcoSport was a decade old when Ford brought it to the US.
They're disgusting popular around Pittsburgh. EcoSports are thick on the ground here.
