A soufflé, expertly made with cave-aged Vermont cheddar and wild mushrooms. "Earthquake," a very decent and well-priced zin, accompanied.
Follow Ups:
Nice pic!
I despise mushrooms.
If there are mushrooms in my meal I wont eat it.
I wouldn't eat it even if the mushrooms are carefully picked out.
Now a 26 oz ribeye steak. Yea.
Had one from whole foods last week.
I have bought steaks in many grocery stores.
COSTCO sells the best of 'em all by far. And you pay for it, believe me.
Had a steak from them that was 'cut with a fork' tender......and perfect at about 140 or so, off the charcoal burner....
Too much is never enough
took a chance today and bought some prime strips from Sam's. We'll see how they compare. We quit going to the local butcher a few years back, his meat simply couldn't compare to Costco's, and was 20-30 % higher and not as good.
----------------------
"E Burres Stigano?"
@ a Gelson's... Probably double the cost of Costco....
We have a meat market over in Carlsbad run by a 90 year old German.
Great stuff and where I go to get SAUSAGE in Mild and Spicy when it's time to make Pizza on the BBQ......
Too much is never enough
From the outlet stores? I've been there a few times.. My wife likes it because they have international foods. I'll have to remember about the sausages next time we are down there...
And next to the Pacific Sales......
Also? Across the street is the FORMER locaiton of Hadley's.......for those who remember the 'dawn' of the whole foods / health market craze. Now only ONE remains, out in Cabazon, if that.
Too much is never enough
They have another location out by my SIL in Calimesa but it doesn't have near the selection of international foods that Carlsbad has... I will have to check out the meat counter by my SIL for the sausage assortment. We go to Hadley's in Cabazon every now and then.... Their Trail mix is the absolute best I have ever had! I've been going there so long that when I first started going back in the 70's the big tub of trail mix was around $4.00 - $5.00... NOW it is almost $20.00! SO good though!!!
I'd drop by for a Date Shake!
I think they had 3 locations at one time, but Carlsbad, near the Ocean off Palomar Airport Road is LONG GONE....
Used to be a Mexican Fast Food place there which served the BEST Burrito ever. I would apply a coating of ALOE around my mouth / lips prior to eating.
Too much is never enough
The burrito I'd probably pass on too as I don't do overly spicy. It has always made me laugh when I see people order Indian food spicy and then sit there as the sweat rolls down their face into their food! DISGUSTING! Thai, Indian and Mexican I ALWAYS order with mild spices.....
Uncle Giuseppe nor Whole Foods are cheap meat.
I'll try to get some meat at a COSTCO.
Thanks for the tip.
OH do I miss my Weber Charcoal Grill.
They're not legal here.
SERIOUSLY? Can't burn meat on Charcoal?
I'd MOVE to a less restrictive place. Than use LUMP not Briquettes.......The last? As much as 1/3 to 1/2 'filler' which just makes ASH.....and a MESS...
Too much is never enough
No way I could try it now because of restrictions put in after absolute moron set his apartment on fire using a gas barbecue which completely destroyed five other apartments.
Until then I used a Weber gas grill.
How do you start such a fire using a gas grill?
What a moron!!!
I got only ONE THING.....
A Gas Grill which has not been properly cleaned and is GREASY might catch in the worst way.
Once lit? It's Katie Bar The Door.....
My BGE is only Lump Charcoal. For an ANNUAL clean? I let 'er rip. All air intakes and exhaust OPEN.
Grill will got to 700f and hotter while the exhaust has a blue tint to it. Interior comes out perfectly clean and white as all the grease / carbon burns out..... Ceramics are lifetime guarantee and I've replaced one of 'em.....for free, after it cracked.
At that point? All Charcoal is consumed, so I can sweep / vacuum and start over.
Too much is never enough
But I got moron out.
And I've been waiting to use 'Katie bar the door' in a sentance for over 30 years.......
Too much is never enough
Microdosing mushrooms is a promising treatment method for mental health disorders, substance abuse, and chronic pain. Clinical trials are ongoing to learn more.

YUCK.
BTW I read the info you posted the other day.
Bit over my head.
It seems to be mostly an approach for people who have an opioid problem.
Something I do not have.
A friend of mine is a civilian Psychiatrist working with the the Defense Department here in NC. We have several large bases and VA facilities. He is working with various "microdose" protocols for soldiers/sailors dealing with PTSD. He is seeing favorable results.
THAT is a really good-looking steak!
Here's one of my recent efforts:
Grilled ribeye, medium-rare.
Grilled jumbo shrimp.
Oven roasted red potatoes.
Sauteed asparagus.
Grilled white onion slice.
And, oh, a slice of grilled portobella mushroom. ;)
(Fret not, my kids don't like mushrooms, either. More for me!)

I need to try cooking vegetables like you guys do.
They look so good.
Looks delicious
Gsquared
t'wasn't I that made this most excellent offering. The baker is Her Highness who, earlier in the week, gifted her most obedient servant with several other delights, including almond meringue drops, jalapeno cornbread, and... custard tarts.
that looks most excellent!
We'll take two.

But once I go for my dislocated toe surgery I will be out of business for a while.
Nope, no text here, either.
