Saw these cuties yesterday. Went back today with bigger lens.
840mm equivalent. (Olympus 300mm+1.4x tele extender with 2x crop factor for the micro four thirds camera).

Here's another Great Horned Owl at a ranch we were staying at in Gypsum, Colorado a few years ago. A friend took this photo on his Nikon Coolpix P900 with built-in long zoom (up to 2000mm equiv but this one was shot at 152mm f/5.6 and 1/125 sec).

I haven't seen an owl in forever. I don't know if we don't have them or I just don't see them. Probably the latter.
