The steering is like a goat cart. I mean it is direct road feel type of car. It has rack and pinion steering which is very direct in turn in. Road feel may be too much for some, it's loud inside from the road and motor noise. Fun car and sticks pretty good. Take off is pretty quick. This is my friends car who I allowed to park in the garage for almost a year. I got to drive it to keep its juices flowing.
Follow Ups:
I bought a 76 Triumph Spitfire from a repo dealer (dad's client) in '82 when I turned 16. Completely mechanical rack and pinion - go-cartish. You felt the road and were punished by the bad holes and bumps. Loved it. Mine was much less perfect than the pic I stole from the internet.

Ahhhhh...back to the basics. My brother had a Triumph TR7, but the Spitfire has that cool classy look about it. Love the lines on the Spitfire. These would be cool for Sunday drives in the country to your favorite cafe or brunch bar. I don't think I could hang for a long distance drive in any of those today, back, and bladder, LoL.
