I had my first and it was okay - a little groggy and a sore arm. Although earlier in the day I did some heavy lifting for my girlfriend as she is sending a big box home to her family. So it could be sore from that than just the jab.
I was impressed by the organization - show ID, Show the school chop (teachers in a priority group), get a pamphlet about it - read it - tick a box. Go into one of the rooms with a drop-dead gorgeous nurse, answer a few questions. Have you taken any drugs - yes Advil. She goes out to double-check that that is okay. The Head nurse asks me why I took an Advil. Acceptable answer and get the jab. Sit in a chair outside for 15 minutes. Get a special card and QR code that proves you got the jab. The a free pack of 20 masks provided as you leave.
Come back in 21 days for round 2.
At least you are protected - now the question is how good the protection is and for how long this will last.
Follow Ups:
That's Ibuprofen. My runner's knee is killing me because I'm not going to take Ibuprofen within a couple of days either side of a Pfizer dose.
Yeah my mom's friend recommended taking Ibuprofen before the jab. She's a retired nurse. I should have looked into it myself but I didn't.
RGA, please dont take Ibuprofen any more. Many doctors I know advise against it. Let the vaccine take care of you without hindrance. If feverish take Tylenol. Even that is not needed. Put a towel soaked in cold water and vinegar on the forehead. Have a happy second Jab.
Cheers
Bill
It seems that the medical opinion is mixed but some experts think it may interfere with the immune response.
