There is out of focus stuff at several levels like depth of field is arbitrary. Was there your choice in the software?
Follow Ups:
Yes. Photo take with high-end glass to begin with.
But I processed with 'miniature' effect.
3 zones.....upper and lower are defocused. Middle should be tighter.
On my TV it looks like a photograph of a model or diarama....
Too much is never enough
Changes the focal plane of the lens so focus can be strangely manipulated.

No tilt-shift lens for my Nikon Z mount. Not in roadmap of future lenses and none from aftermarket makers. If I could get an EOS / Z mount adapter?
The software allows me to do this. I can fix perspective and straighten lines in Viewpoint than apply the 'miniature' effect. Viewpoint is treated as a plugin, so it is a seamless operation.
Other than color correction (scan from a transparency?) your shot is pretty neat. When I was a Canon shooter, I could never decide which of the 3 T-S offerings to buy or even RENT. I would have
RENTED if I thought I needed something like that. Now I see 5 of 'em....including a 135mm and a couple called 'macro'.... Purchase is guaranteed to MELT your CREDIT CARD.
The OTHER way to get that effect is with a full VIEW CAMERA which features all those adjustments and more. Tilts? Shifts? Swings? Lateral Shift? Who Knows?

As a fellow photographer, I understand that you're experimenting. This 3-zone defocus-focus-defocus effect might work very well for some images, but it doesn't work for this one.

We'll agree to disagree.
I think it looks very 'miniature' I can experiment with change of parameters, too......the shot I posted was @default.....
I experimentd on a portrait or 2 but NO GOOD.
I'll try something already depth of field limited.....like maybe a shot from this series?
NOT THIS ONE....This is an 8meg JPG but I could start with a RAW file.....
I'm no longer recording any JPG images having gone to RAW exclusively...

The flower shot is very nice. The out of focus tips of the flower softens what could otherwise be too stark/harsh. Nice.
With regard to the first photo, note that there are some issues with the tops of the trees on the left, and issues in the lower left. I don't remember offhand if there was anything else.

Maybe it works better if I were to post the original shot?
Taken @200mm, it is from a short distance......
Keep in mind this is JUST AN EXPERIMENT and I've got a ways to go before I call any shot 'done'.
The flower is AS SHOT using an 85mm lens at maybe f2 whcih minimized depth of field. If I took a duplicate shot? Focus somewhere 'in between' far and near AND use f11 or f16 to maximize depth.
Maybe I could try a LONGER lens but I'd have to limit myself to f2.8

It worked. I thought it looked like a model.

Thanks. I'm learning from these replys.
Some don't see it the way I intend. Others DO.
Like THIS shot. What do YOU see?
I took it for a specific reason and many don't get it!

"What do YOU see?"
I see a grumpy old man, maybe Walter Matthau.
:)
On the topic of "miniature", in Glion, Switz., (above Montreux) they actually have an entire miniature village set up in a park. It's amazing. I might have a picture of it somewhere.

Believe or not, some do NOT see the 'grumpy old man'......
