Hardly noticed side effects from first jab of Pfizer. Figured 2nd jab would be no problem! But now on day 3 after jab no. 2 it's suddenly like the flu. Major fatigue & headache. Popping pain relievers and napping through out the day. Can't get much of anything done. Sleep seems to be the best remedy.Anybody breeze through the 2nd dose? Or does most everybody get zonked by these vaccines?

...combined with a substantial amount of anecdotal evidence is that a reaction is more likely to occur after the second dose of the two-part vaccine administration.
The first dose "activates" the immune system--so essentially it becomes "locked and loaded". The second dose can be perceived as a "challenge", sending the already hyper-sensitized immune system into "overdrive"--hence the reaction--typically "flu-like" symptoms.
Individuals who have had and recovered from Covid, or were heavily exposed, but remained asymptomatic are more likely to experience these effects after the first dose. Essentially, in these individuals, the first dose is actually perceived as a second dose--the immune system is already "activated" from the previous exposure/infection.
My sister and BIL fell under that scenario--a reaction from their first dose, since they had both tested positive and recovered from Covid prior to being vaccinated.

Jab 2 - fever, chills, body aches, fatigue. I was told that meant it was working. OK.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
With luck, this will hold true.
#1 and pain from noon to midnite......and much better in morning and again about 90% good by the 24 hour mark.
#2? Easier yet. Some soreness gone within 12 hours.
Neighbor kid? Very fit and got clobbered. Various results which dont' seem to coorelate with age or fitness level...
Too much is never enough
I had my first and it was okay - a little groggy and a sore arm. Although earlier in the day I did some heavy lifting for my girlfriend as she is sending a big box home to her family. So it could be sore from that than just the jab.
I was impressed by the organization - show ID, Show the school chop (teachers in a priority group), get a pamphlet about it - read it - tick a box. Go into one of the rooms with a drop-dead gorgeous nurse, answer a few questions. Have you taken any drugs - yes Advil. She goes out to double-check that that is okay. The Head nurse asks me why I took an Advil. Acceptable answer and get the jab. Sit in a chair outside for 15 minutes. Get a special card and QR code that proves you got the jab. The a free pack of 20 masks provided as you leave.
Come back in 21 days for round 2.
At least you are protected - now the question is how good the protection is and for how long this will last.
That's Ibuprofen. My runner's knee is killing me because I'm not going to take Ibuprofen within a couple of days either side of a Pfizer dose.
Yeah my mom's friend recommended taking Ibuprofen before the jab. She's a retired nurse. I should have looked into it myself but I didn't.
RGA, please dont take Ibuprofen any more. Many doctors I know advise against it. Let the vaccine take care of you without hindrance. If feverish take Tylenol. Even that is not needed. Put a towel soaked in cold water and vinegar on the forehead. Have a happy second Jab.
Cheers
Bill
It seems that the medical opinion is mixed but some experts think it may interfere with the immune response.
Maybe you've caught a cold or have a digestive issue. It's easy to wrongly associate "cause and effect". Happens all the time.

all was fine again after about 24 hours. You're gonna be fine.
Two weeks after the second jab, we headed out for a restaurant dinner - outside and well spaced. It was simply a great meal. But was it because it was really great food or because it was our first outside meal in 13 months? Dunno.
Either way, it felt great and you will, too.
at "fault," and that's GOOD.
The first dose of Moderna I was fine, but the second dose, man, that sucked. Fever, chills, body aches, and sweated all night. The next morning, I was ready to take in the world. I felt like I was recharged and full of energy. So, 1.5 days of second dose symptoms.
I've already been exposed and seemingly asymptomatic and my wife still has anti-bodies that she's donating, so we haven't been eager to get the jab. I tried to find out what sites were using what vaccine to no avail. One jab just seems better than one.

I had zero reactions. Ditto for a friend. Another friend ended up in bed for two days with fever, chills and fatigue.

..from the New Mexico Department of Health saying a Moderna vaccine was available. I sign up for April 1st and went in last Thursday and all they had was Johnson & Johnson/Janssen (Walmart). I said sure. I received the shot about 10:00 AM. I started to feel crummy about 3:00 (headache & muscle pain). Felt normal the next morning.
For perfect tone use Columbia Needles
For Best results use Victor Needles
For best results use OKEH Needles
One it is only one shot and two I have read that it is MORE effective at making the virus less serious than the other vaccines should you contract Covid. The other vaccines have a better prevention rate though. Finally, I haven't heard of anyone having serious side effects or worse from the J & J......

tennis group, none, or their wives, has had a significant reaction.

Moderna here. Minor pain at injection site after 2nd dose, but the odd side effect was several nights of extremely vivid dreams. Apparently not an uncommon effect, as it tends to disrupt sleep patterns (see the folks with insomnia), which messes with REM sleep, which makes your dreams more memorable.
Cerebrate!
Got 2X Pfizer.
Dose #1? Some soreness up to 12 hours after shot. By morning, mostly OK and back to normal.
Dose #2? MINOR soreness at shot site. Mostly gone in 12 hours.
Back to normal.....whatever THAT is......
Too much is never enough
Other then a sore arm and a little tiredness I've had no side effects at all from my second shot. No side effects from the first one either
except for a sore arm and some tiredness.
In fact we both felt better and enjoyed better digestive action (better poopin).
I'm not kidding.
I had a couple nights of insomnia. Spousal Unit had some diarrhea and fainted at about the 24 hour mark. Unexpected; could have been a hard landing. Precautions didn't mention wearing a hard hat.
Nobody has mentioned having a raging hard-on, so maybe that's exempt.
BOOSTER SHOT!

But did take that day off to just rest and glad I did as I was fatigued.
That faded over the next couple days and I paced myself.
Have a friend that was clobbered the day after much like you.
Really the best thing to do is get as much rest as possible while you body adapts.
Did notice my arm was sore 10 days later when I leaned on it.
Found that surprising.
Rest and stay hydrated.
I've heard the Moderna is worse... guess we are lucky as such.
