I like the lighting and the black background. How did you set that up?
On the other hand, the shot could have been cropped more betterer for commercial use. But, hey, it's still a very nice shot!
:)
Follow Ups:
...1. Set flower in doorway to large darkened room (at night) 2. Place spotlight about 4ft above and slightly forward of flower. 3. Capture image using iPhone.
OR
1. Capture image with conventional lighting set-up 2. Use photoshop to create an intensely detailed and tedious "selection" 3. Create mask using selection to "protect" the flower. 4. Erase unprotected portions of image to a black background.
Can you guess which method I used?
Method #3
Buy and keep a couple yards of BLACK VELVET.
I've used that a number of times as a background and to great effect.
This shot with flash of 2x and I used a flash meter to determine exposure. stuff most casual guys won't have.
Too much is never enough
It ain't #2. The image is too clean. Unless, you're VERY good, and, have lots of time on your hands. :)
My guess is that you might have done a little brightness/contrast. In any case, it's a great shot, suitable for cropping, printing and framing.
:)
#1 for sure! Absolutely no image adjustments but did use HDR option. Also resized down significantly to reduce upload time. If you intend to do anything with this other than look at on mobile device, will probably need to sharpen a bit.
I'm lookin' at it on an 18" Samsung flat panel, and it looks great. As far as me using it? - Hahahaha! I've got a couple hundred of my own shots which are still waiting for me to get to them!
Good call on reducing the size. When I post photos, I always reduce them to about 1200 wide by whatever tall. I hate having to scroll left/right to see an image in a post.
Carry on.
:)
